Run by Volunteers
None of the directors or employees receive any money. Everyone is a volunteer. This means that there is very little overhead and more of your donation goes straight through our organization to a scholarship recipient. The only expenses we incur are transaction fees (which are $0.30 + 2.2% of donation amount) and website hosting fees (which are $43.95 per year, and paid for by the directors). Other than that, all of your money goes to the student.
Andy Fatch
"Born and raised in Ukiah, I grew up playing sports and enjoying the outdoors. I played Little League at South Ukiah Little League, Pony at Anton Stadium, and later high school baseball, basketball and football at Ukiah High School. Growing up I loved living in an area like Ukiah where I was able to ride my bike around town, around Low Gap Park and Lake Mendocino. I loved visiting grandparents on the coast, camping at Hendy Woods, and spending time with friends in Redwood Valley and Hopland. All in all, I felt Ukiah was a great safe place to grow up with a lot of unique opportunities and I will always love the area. Both of my parents still live in Ukiah and I enjoy coming home to see them, catch up with friends, and see how the area is changing. I still enjoy playing basketball and throwing the baseball around in addition to skiing, camping and backpacking, traveling, and trying to get to a championship in my fantasy baseball league."
Andy attended Claremont McKenna College where he received his Master's in Finance and UC San Diego where he received a BA in Economics. He's an Associate at Goode Partners, a private equity firm based in New York that invests in consumer companies.

Dan Roberts
"Born and raised in the small town of Ukiah, surrounded by beautiful mountains and filled with great people, truly shaped the man that I am today. Andy and I have been friends from the young age of 4 when we met at the Co-op Nursery School near Todd Grove Park. Like Andy, I was very active in athletics growing up, playing soccer and basketball at various locations around town, baseball at Lion's and Bechtol Fields and Anton Stadium and later adding Lacrosse and Water Polo in High School. My life long passion for the outdoors is largely due to growing up in such a beautiful valley and my time in Boy Scouts where I reached Eagle. Spending time at Low Gap Park, Lake Mendocino, Montgomery Woods, and all over Redwood Valley and Hopland are memories that I will cherish forever. My mom still lives in Ukiah and I love every opportunity I get to come home and see the places I love, the friends I have made and the town that built me."

Joe Defatte
"I feel very fortunate that at age seven my family moved us up from Petaluma to Ukiah. Moving to this area was a great place to grow up, be active outside, and meet some awesome people... such as Andy and Dan. I quickly became involved with sports playing for the Ukiah Lions Pop Warner team, baseball at Bechtol Field, and eventually getting into club lacrosse. As I grew up in this area, I became more accustomed to other outdoor activities and was able to enjoy all the fishing and camping that Mendocino county has to offer. After graduating from college, I moved back to work for my family's business. I still enjoy getting outside whether it's hiking in Montgomery Woods, fishing the Navarro river, or just taking a cruise to Fort Bragg for some fish and chips. "

"Growing up Ukiah was a great experience that has had a major impact on the person I am today. This part of the country offers so much to do and see whether it be the Mendocino Coast, the redwood groves, or the vineyards that blanket this beautiful county. I grew up heavily involved in many of the youth sports programs and spent my spare time fishing, hunting, hiking, and spending countless hours on Lake Mendocino. My love for the outdoors was easily satisfied with visits to see family friends in Potter Valley and camping trips to Hendy Woods, places I still frequent today. After college and spending a number of years working in the San Francisco Bay Area I moved back to Mendocino County to be closer to family and friends and enjoy the place I grew to love in my youth."
